-Megan Odom's life-
Having been born and Raised in Santa Fe New Mexico, the rich culture and community have always played a massive role in my life. Seeing the widely expressive and creative individuals and projects around me has always pushed me to explore the lengths of my personal potential.
I channeled this energy and drive into discovering the aspects about life that excited me the most and found myself very often drawn to different fields of science such as biology, botany, sustainability, but most importantly, astrophysics. One of New Mexico's greatest benefits for my personal discovery is its massive sky full of stars and possibilities.
Along with channeling my energy into science, I found a strong passion for activism. With the community in New Mexico being very forward thinking, I was presented with many opportunities to support good causes. Because of this, I have always been an avid ally for such causes as climate change, women's rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and BLM.
Sports and athletics have always played a large role in my life as a hobby, passion, and release. With a fencing coach as a father, I have been on the fencing strip since the age of 7 and became a nationally competitive fencer at 11. Along with fencing, I have competed in volleyball in both school teams and competitive teams, and I have been an avid recreational skier all of my life.
As a very driven and passionate person, I am dedicated to the things I put my mind to. I push myself and apply myself to as many things as possible. I hold my core values strong and value the people and opportunities in my life.
